Current research
Religion and film has been the main focus area of my research, but I am interested in religion, media and culture research broadly. During the last couple of years my research has also focused on young adults and religion and areas such as socialization, gender, digital media and volunteer work.
Research areas I have been involved in:
- Religion and young adults: International project focusing on religious, spiritual and secular worldviews among university students in 12 countries.
- Digital religion: Studies of discussions on online forums and in social media and digital strategies of churches
- Church, faith in meaning in contemporary Nordic films: Contemporary religion and views on religion through the lens of films
- Religion, films and messiahs: Saviors in science fiction films and TV-series through a gender lens.
